Logic Latin instructor

Position Description

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Latin Teacher who is passionate about classical Christian education and committed to forming students in both academic excellence and Christian virtue. The ideal candidate will embrace the Latin language, understand its central role in a classical curriculum, and joyfully partner with parents and colleagues to disciple students in truth, goodness, and beauty.

Primary Responsibilities:
Teach Latin in alignment with the school’s classical scope and sequence (grammar, vocabulary, translation, and basic composition as appropriate to grade level).
Foster a classroom culture that reflects a Christian Worldview.
Integrate faith and learning by highlighting the connection between Latin, Scripture, theology, Western civilization, and the Great Books.
Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials that support mastery and wonder.
Assess student progress regularly and communicate clearly with parents regarding growth and areas for improvement.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and lesson plans.
Collaborate with faculty and administration to support the mission and vision of the school.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
Uphold and model Christian character in speech, conduct, and relationships.

Qualifications:
A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith.
Bachelor’s degree required
Demonstrated knowledge of Latin grammar and translation; experience teaching Latin is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with classical Christian education and ACCS standards (or a willingness to be trained).
Strong classroom management skills rooted in authority, clarity, and grace.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
A teachable spirit and desire for ongoing professional and spiritual growth.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in a classical Christian school setting.
Familiarity with commonly used Latin curricula (e.g., Latin for Children, Henle, Wheelock, or similar).
Ability to teach multiple grade levels or adapt instruction to developmental stages.

Employment Details
Position may be full-time or part-time, depending on school needs.
Salary commensurate with experience and education.
