Position Description

ATHLETIC COORDINATOR

Employee Type: Full or Part-time (Approx. 20 hours/week with potential to expand role if teaching P.E. classes)

OVERVIEW: The Athletic Coordinator provides leadership and direction to ACA’s growing 6th-12th grade athletic program. He/she hires and manages coaches, oversees the athletic budget, supports
student-athletes’ physical, character and spiritual growth, and develops a multi-year plan for growing
ACA’s athletic program, including adding sports as ACA’s Upper School enrollment grows. He/she works to build a robust athletic program that complements and reinforces students’ classical Christian education and strives to help prepare students for life and influence beyond ACA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Cast vision for ACA’s athletic program and how it integrates with a classical Christian education.
● Manage athletics operations, including scheduling games, practices, and events, ensuring
seamless logistics.
● Create and spearhead strategy for building ACA’s athletic programs, including sports to add year
by year.
● Support coaches by communicating expectations, providing resources, and offering feedback.
● Coach P.E. instructors to help them be more effective in their roles.
● Uphold program policies related to student discipline, coach conduct, parent responsibilities, etc.
● Communicate schedules and program updates to parents, student athletes, and coaches.
● Manage equipment and uniform needs.
● Set and manage athletics budget in coordination with Executive Director and/or Business
Operations Manager.
● Maintain accurate records of team schedules, rosters and results.
● Foster a culture of faith, teamwork, and sportsmanship among student athletes.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
● Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Education, or related field
● Experience in athletic coordination, coaching, or program management
● Passion for mentoring student-athletes and fostering spiritual, character and physical growth
● Strong organizational and communication skills
● Knowledgeable of classical Christian education and its application to athletics programs
● Experience supporting coaches through resource provision or professional development
● Familiarity with managing game-day operations (facilities, referees, equipment, etc.)
● Dedication to creating a disciplined, joyful, and Christ-honoring athletics culture
● Commitment to classical Christian education and ACA mission
● Evidence of mature Christian faith and ability to affirm ACA Statement of Faith and Employee
Standards of Conduct
SALARY AND BENEFITS
● Salary: $25,000-$60,000 depending on experience, qualifications and work load (i.e., full or part
time)
ATHLETIC COORDINATOR
Job Description
● PTO: two to four full days per year (in addition to days the school is closed), depending on work
hours
● Sick Leave: three to six full days per year, depending on work hours
● Partially sponsored health, dental and vision insurance plans (60% for full-time employees & 50%
for dependents; 50% for part-time employees working 20+ hours/week)
● Life insurance: $25,000
