Position Description

The Jubilee School seeks a faithful and visionary Christian leader to serve as its next Head of School.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Head of School serves as the school’s chief administrator, academic leader, and educational visionary. This individual will steward and advance a distinctive educational mission rooted in Classical Christian education, meaningful conversation, personalized instruction, and the formation of students for lives of faithful Christian service. At Jubilee, we seek to form students who love truth, goodness, and beauty; pursue wisdom and wonder; and serve others with humility, conviction, and love. The next Head of School will help shape and strengthen a community dedicated to that vision.

To train students in a Classical Christian education, welcoming them into an atmosphere of conversation through well-curated works in skills-based classrooms toward a life of wisdom and wonder in service and love.

The Jubilee School exists to cultivate the whole person. We believe education is not merely the transfer of information but the formation of hearts, minds, affections, and habits under the lordship of Christ.

Our educational model combines a rich Classical Christian liberal arts tradition with personalized instruction, meaningful relationships, and age-integrated classrooms. Students engage deeply with history, literature, Scripture, mathematics, science, language, music, and the arts, learning to see the interconnectedness of God’s world and their place within it.

Beginning with our Montessori-inspired Primary Prep program, students develop habits of attention, concentration, responsibility, independence, and joyful work. As they mature, they are invited into increasingly rigorous study, thoughtful discussion, and the pursuit of wisdom through well-curated works and rich conversation.

Through age-integrated classrooms, students learn not only from teachers but from one another. Younger students are inspired by older peers, while older students grow in leadership, service, and responsibility. We seek to graduate young men and women who are intellectually curious, spiritually grounded, and equipped to faithfully live out their future vocations wherever God calls them. Our aim is not simply to prepare students for college or careers. Our aim is to prepare them for Christian life.

The Opportunity:

The Head of School is entrusted with preserving and advancing the distinctive mission and culture of Jubilee.

The successful candidate will understand that Classical Christian education is not merely a curriculum but a vision for human flourishing. This leader will champion academic excellence while nurturing spiritual formation, supporting faculty development, cultivating healthy relationships with families, strengthening community partnerships, and guiding the school’s strategic growth.

The Head of School will work collaboratively with academic deans, faculty, staff, and parents to ensure that every aspect of school life reflects Jubilee’s commitment to Christian discipleship, intellectual rigor, joyful learning, and faithful service.

This role would be best for a candidate who has a diversity of gifts which could be applied mentoring teachers, shepherding students, overseeing operations, accelerating organizational growth and casting a compelling vision for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

Pastoral Leadership
Model a vibrant Christian faith and godly character.
Foster a Christ-centered culture throughout the school community.
Oversee chapel, exordium, and other spiritual life programs.
Provide biblical guidance and support to students, families, and staff.
Cultivate a culture marked by Wisdom & Wonder in Service and Love.
Serve as the primary ambassador of The Jubilee School.
Build strong relationships with parents and families.
Foster partnerships with churches, donors, and community leaders.
Represent the school publicly with clarity and conviction.

Academic Leadership
Champion Jubilee’s Classical Christian educational philosophy.
Support rigorous academic standards and appropriate growth for all learners.
Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate faculty.
Partner with Academic Deans to oversee curriculum and student placement.
Maintain a comprehensive scope and sequence aligned with Jubilee’s mission.
Lead professional development for faculty and educational opportunities for parents.
Support personalized learning and the unique needs of individual students.
Teach classes when needed to support faculty and students.

Strategic Leadership
Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement long-range plans.
Support fundraising and advancement efforts.
Identify opportunities for growth and facility development.
Regularly report to the Board on enrollment, finances, school culture, and strategic initiatives.
Lead efforts that ensure the long-term health and sustainability of the school.
Oversee daily school operations, staffing, and budgeting.
Ensure compliance with educational, accreditation, and safety requirements.
Partner with financial personnel to maintain responsible stewardship.
Lead enrollment initiatives and meet with prospective families.
Develop policies consistent with the school’s mission and values.
