The Opportunity

Baldwin Christian School (BCS) is seeking a visionary and shepherd-hearted Headmaster to lead our community into its next chapter of growth. BCS has been serving families looking for a Christ-centered education for their children since 1917. Located in Baldwin, Wisconsin, just a convenient 40-minute drive from the Twin Cities metro, BCS offers the rare combination of a close-knit, family-centered community and easy access to the cultural, professional, and educational opportunities of Minneapolis–St. Paul.

The Role

The Headmaster serves as the chief administrative officer, reporting directly to the Board of Directors. You will be the primary keeper of the school’s mission, responsible for the spiritual vitality, academic excellence, and operational health of BCS.

Key Responsibilities

• Spiritual Leadership: Model a life of prayer and biblical fidelity; shepherd the hearts of faculty and students through a Gospel-centered lens.
• Pedagogical Oversight: Mentor teachers in the craft of Classical Christian instruction (Trivium) and ensure the curriculum remains rooted in the Great Books tradition.
• Community Engagement: Act as the face of BCS to the Baldwin community, building strong partnerships with parents and local churches.
• Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, including enrollment management, budgeting, and facility stewardship, with a focus on long-term sustainability.

We are looking for a leader who is as comfortable in the “Great Conversation” of Western Civilization as they are in a rural Wisconsin town hall.

• Theologically Grounded: Firmly aligned with the BCS Statement of Faith and have a strong Biblical worldview.
• Classically Minded: Possesses a deep understanding of Paideia and the ability to articulate why Latin, Logic, and Rhetoric are essential for the 21st-century student.
• Relational & Resilient: A “people person” who leads with humility and “velvet-covered steel”- kind in spirit but firm in conviction.
• Culturally Aligned: Appreciates the pace and values of West Central Wisconsin; someone who desires to plant roots in a supportive, family-oriented community.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Education, Theology, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven leadership experience, ideally within a Classical Christian school setting.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
• A member in good standing of a local biblically faithful church.
