Full-Time Latin Instructor

Position Description

Clapham School, a PreK-12 classical Christian school in Wheaton, Illinois, seeks a full-time Latin teacher.

Primary Objectives:
1. To inspire students with an education that leads them to joyful discovery and
increasing mastery of the Latin language
2. To promote a culture of love and delight for classical languages and antiquity
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Provide instruction in accordance with the school’s classical philosophy
2. Provide instruction using Charlotte Mason’s pedagogical techniques of narration,
habit training, atmosphere, and a curriculum of living books and ideas
3. Teach and lesson plan for a variety of Latin levels, including a course that
prepares students to take the A.P. Latin exam
4. Help students grow in habits of mind, heart, and body
5. Foster positive and collaborative relationships with the students and parents
6. Attend staff meetings and training days
