Position Description

Who is Evangel Christian Academy (ECA)?
At ECA, we are dedicated to providing an exceptional classical Christian education that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit of each student. ECA’s mission is to partner with parents and their church to educate, equip, and empower students to pursue their purpose in Christ. We aim to prepare students for a lifetime of learning, grounded in a Biblical worldview. This is pursued in the context of classical Christian education in Pre-K through 5th grade (Grammar), 6th through 8th grade (Logic), 9th through
12th grade (Rhetoric), dual college enrollment, homeschool support, and limited special education services. ECA was founded in 1971 and has been accredited with ACCS (Association of Classical Christian Schools) since 2018. We are honored to serve families representing more than 50 churches throughout Colorado Springs of numerous denominations.

And we are looking for a Head of School!
The ECA Board of Directors is searching for a Head of School (HoS) to begin no later than the 2025-2026 school year. It is the responsibility of the HoS to work with the ECA Board to establish  broad strategic, spiritual, educational, and financial goals and translate them into programs and policies that achieve the desired results. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader, setting the  tone for excellence in all areas under this position’s influence.

What you’ll do:
● Provide Spiritual Leadership through exemplifying the  characteristics of a servant leader,
bringing the community of families and educators together to nurture a Christ-centered, biblically-directed environment where faith and learning are integral.
● Provide Educational Leadership in keeping with the Reformed faith, ECA mission Statement, and classical Christian education principles, while working closely with the Board and leadership team to implement policies and procedures to achieve stated goals.
● Provide Stewarding Leadership that is a magnet for new families and supporters to the mission of ECA, which is a key component to strategic growth through an enrollment management, marketing, and development plan. An important part of Stewardship is a strong
Financial acumen, and ability to maximize returns on program, personnel, and administrative investments.
● Provide People Leadership through the attraction, cultivation, and retention of the leadership members, defining development goals, and providing coaching to lead to the success of the larger ECA team.
● Provide Community Leadership through a variety of collaborative approaches, including, but not limited to: engagement with ECA families through event involvement, fostering of healthy dialogue with parents regarding the classical Christian model of education, public service to the wider community, and generally serving as the face of ECA.

Requirements:
● Possess a deep, personal faith in Jesus Christ that is apparent in both word and deed, while fostering a Christ-centric, high integrity culture at ECA
● Display passion for spiritual formation and development for staff and student body
● Agree with, and advocate for, the ECA Mission, Core Convictions, and Statement of Faith
● Demonstrate a commitment to classical Christian education methodology
● Serve as a disciplined, dynamic facilitator of growth and  excellence at ECA through the ability to craft and implement long-term plans that align with the school’s mission, including facilities
expansion, fundraising, and academic programs
● Demonstrated expertise in cultivating donors, engaging the community as the face of ECA, and securing funding through campaigns, events, grants, and partnerships
● Experience in financial development and operations management, including new campaign initiatives, budgeting, forecasting, and expense management
● Keen sense of business acumen, and success running an organization, while balancing sustainability and needed investments
● Prior experience with recruitment, professional development, and retention of talented administrators, teachers, and staff
● Possess the relationship-building skills to cultivate meaningful partnerships with current/potential student families, donors, and alumni
● Self-motivated, disciplined individual with ruthless organizational skills to stay on top of a diverse set of goals and responsibilities
● Capability to adapt quickly to challenges and find creative solutions
● Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure plans and initiatives are properly supported, and ECA’s academic achievement remains high
● Possess exceptional communication, while being approachable and accessible to stakeholders
● Have a lighthearted and joyful attitude, with the ability to act as a source of strength and wisdom to those who seek counsel
● Possess a humble spirit that seeks feedback and input from the Board, peers, & parents to create a collaborative environment

Qualifications:
● BA/BS in Education, Business Administration, or related field, with an MBA or comparable education or leadership experience preferred
● At least 5 years combined of education and/or development experience in a school setting, and experience in a classical Christian school environment is strongly preferred
● Prior experience in the successful acquisition of ACCS or ACSI accreditation/re-accreditation desired
● Comfort with the Google Suite of applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive), or experience with MSFT Word, Excel, and PowerPoint along with a desire/ability to learn new technology
