JrK-12 Music Director

Position Description

Libertas Christian School is West Michigan’s only JrK-12th grade classical Christian school located minutes from both the big city (Grand Rapids) and the sandy shores of Lake Michigan (Holland). As a multi-denominational, Protestant Christian school, LCS boasts of families from over 50 area churches coming together on a Statement of Faith. Believing that a singing school is a joyful school, we are looking for our next dynamic Music Director after the retirement of our beloved current Director.

JrK-12 Music Director:

LCS is interviewing dynamic musical candidates for the position of JrK-12 Music Director. This position includes leading, guiding and inspiring students to see the beauty in God’s creation of music and awaken a wonder and love for this area of study. This position includes the following minimum responsibilities:

• JrK-4th grade: Basic musical theory, musical history, music in Scripture, composers, genres of music, Kodaly/Solfege
• 4th grade: Recorders
• 5th grade: Beginning Concert Band
• 6th-7th grade: Intermediate Band
• 8th-12th grade: Advanced Concert Band (by graduation should be proficient in major and minor scales)
• 7th-12th grade: Chorale (4 part harmony with public appearances)
