Position Description
SPECIFIC FOCUS: Upper School Mathematics, 7th – 12th grade
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A personal, active faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian discipleship.
• Agreement with the school’s Doctrinal Statement and commitment to classical Christian education.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
• Teaching experience at the Logic and/or Rhetoric school level preferred.
• Familiarity with classical pedagogy and ACCS standards (or willingness to learn).
• Strong classroom management skills and a heart for shepherding students.
• Ability to communicate complex mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teach middle and high school mathematics courses (such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre
Calc, Business Math, etc.) using a classical, mastery-based approach.
• Integrate biblical truth and Christian worldview into instruction, helping students see mathematics as an ordered, logical reflection of God’s creation.
• Prepare lesson plans that emphasize clear explanation, guided practice, and thoughtful assessment.
• Assess student learning through tests, quizzes, homework, and projects, providing timely and
constructive feedback.
• Maintain an orderly, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that fosters diligence, humility, and perseverance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum alignment and school-wide academic goals.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and expectations.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
• Uphold and model the school’s statement of faith, philosophy of education, and code of conduct.
